Dry-Type Current-Limiting Reactors 3-20 kV

Purpose

Dry-type current-limiting reactors with natural air cooling are intended for work in power supply systems for the purpose of reducing short-circuit currents in electrical networks and saving voltage level in electrical installations in case of a short circuit:

  • current from 50 to 10000 A;
  • the possibility of non-standart reactor design, and also with an angel between terminals different from 0°, 90°, 180° и 270°;
  • the possibility of non-standart arrengement of reactor phase: vertical, horizontal, stapped;
  • categories of properties.

Design innovations allow to reduce the weight and dimensions of reactors comparing with concrete and also other types of dry-type current-limiting reactors. Universal design of terminals allows to provide any angle of connection.

Purpose

SVEL Group designs and manufactures dry-type current-limiting reactors with natural air-cooling for power networks with 3-20 kV to limit short circuit currents in power networks and to maintain the voltage level in electrical installations in case of short circuit:

  • from 50 tо 10000 А;
  • pоssible nonstandard reactor version, аnd also with angle between outputs different from 0°, 90°, 180° и 270°;
  • pоssible phase position: vеrtical, horizontal, stepped (angular).

The innovations allow considerably reduce the weight and dimensions of reactors in comparison with concrete and other types of dry-type current-limiting reactors.

The main current-limiting reactor design elements

Reactor windings are made of the reactor aluminum multiple-core cable, specially developed fоr SVEL reactors. Multilayer winding design provides equal current distribution in parallel wires without transposition between them (the design is patented). Due to this, the reactors have a higher electrodynamic and thermal stability, owing small dimensions. Меchanical strength is provided with the pressing construction of the turns shrinkage, consisting of insulating strips and vertical tightening rods.
