Section Switch Protection And Control Cabinet is used for arrangement, protection and automation of section switch or busbar coupler. It can be used individually and within the set of ШЭ-СВЭЛ cabinets.

ШЭ-СВЭЛ-УА cabinet represents design with four walls which safely protect the content from all sides. Cabinet guarantees maximum current protection and ambient environment protection.

  • Maximum current protection is a protection from short-circuits in the entire circuit. It has several levels, part of which can be set to standby status. They can automatically turn on in case of malfunctions.
  • Pointed maximum current protection is a current protection, which reacts to short-circuit current power direction.
  • Current cutoff is maximum current protection carried out on a separate protected circuit section.
  • Negative sequence protection preserves network from overloads with negative sequence currents.
  • Current open-phase protection safes connected to network mechanisms (such as electro-motors) from loss of phase in the circuit.
  • Loss of mains protection is fitted for electro-motors safety during long-term or short-term voltage reduction in the network. It also allows to cut-off the engine after it went to generator mode and transferred the power in the network.

  • synchronization and electronegative gas pressure monitoring;

Switch Protection And Control Cabinet assembly includes protection cabinet itself. It contains metal case, manual control and automation devices installed internally, clamps and bushings for cable connection. Keys for cabinets` door (1 pc per cabinet), spare parts, operation documentation and components (according to specification) are supplied with the cabinet. It can be equipped with protective screen; the size is indicated in Configuration Data Sheet.

Cabinet`s case is made of all-metal sheets and has several modifications. In particular, the cabinet can be made with one or two doors (one-sided or two-sided).

One-sided cabinet has one door located on the front wall of the cabinet. The back wall in this case is blind. Two-sided cabinet is made with front and back doors, it eases equipment arrangement. Doors can be opened to an angle of 110 degrees. The cabinet is equipped with mounting plate and detent.

Front door can be either solid or with a viewing window which allows to monitor equipment condition without door opening. Many of the sensor readings are also displayed directly on the front door and on the mimic diagram, if available (indicated in Configuration Data Sheet).

Design and internal equipment of the cabinet shall be selected according to site-specific conditions.

Section Switch Control Cabinet can be 2000х800х600mm and 2000х600х600mm. Mounting base or protective screen, when included in the design, can be 100mm or 200mm. All cabinet`s sizes are standard. Deviations from specified values can be implemented upon customer`s request.

Cable input can be located below or above. Auxiliary supply voltage =220V, =110V or ~220V.

Control panel may include:

  • control key and switch position indication,
  • control mode selector,
  • control key and circuit-breaker position indication (earthing blade),
  • circuit-breaker position indication (earthing blade),
  • multifunctional measuring device,
  • digital voltmeter with voltage selector switch,
  • OLTC control with position indicator (resistive sensor, selsyn transmitter, BCD).

The communication interface with the automatic control system is also variable. Depending on the type, different communication cables can be used. For MODBUS-RTU, GOST R IEC 60870-5-101-2006, GOST R IEC 60870-5-103-2005 RS-485 cables. For MODBUS-TCP, GOST R IEC 60870-5-104-2005 and IEC 61850 (MMS, GOOSE) standard Ethernet 10/100 BASE-TX or fiber optic Ethernet 10/100 BASE-FX. ТХ cable provides a reliable signal transmission range of up to 100m, fiber optic FX cable increases this distance to 2km and has carrying capacity 100MB per second.
