SVEL Group works on the evolved cooperation with pulp and paper mills. One of the largest project that we participated in is the upgrade of Thermal Power Plant of Syktyvkarsky Timber Complex (SLPK). It should be mentioned that this power plant ensures 17% of the electricity generated in the Republic of Komi.
The project involves installation of a gas boiler and a steam turbine. The voltage will be transformed to be accepted by 110 kV grid, thanks to SVEL’s 63 MVA transformer, and meanwhile two current-limiting reactors will protect the switchgear from possible faults. Upon the upgrade, the thermal power plant will reduce natural gas consumption and cut CO2 emissions.
Among the pulp and paper mills operating SVEL’s equipment, the Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill and the branch of the Ilim Group in Koryazhma (Arkhangelsk Region) are to be mentioned, as well as the Sukhonsky Pulp and Paper Mill in Vologda Region. Over the past three years, the company has supplied 7 dry-type cast resin transformers and 4 current‑limiting reactors within the infrastructure upgrade, at these companies.
