SVEL Modular Mobile Substations Launched to Market

News

The capabilities of the modular mobile substations SVEL 35/10kV and 110/35/10kV were demonstrated at the session of the scientific and technical committee. Chief Engineers of the head-quarter and affiliates of the largest Siberian Grids Company reviewed the configuration options of the modular mobile substations, including those intended for smart (highly automated) substation.

While developing this new product, SVEL Group leaned on the in-house components, i.e. 35/10kV Model own components cover 80% of the needs. These are power transformers, 2,500kVA to 16,000kVA, closed switchgears (disconnectors and CTs), e-house, switchgears, relay protection cabinets, oil receiver. In future, it is planned to launch a bunch of components currently supplied by other companies.

Demand for the modular mobile substations grows, especially in mining industries. During the committee session, SVEL representatives noted that the comprehensive engineering approach started at SVEL – from design of a mobile substation taking upon customer’s need and up to installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
