SVEL Group acted as General Contractor in 110kV Checkmash Substation in Sverdlovsk Region. This Substation ensures the transfer of electricity generated by three solar power plants being a united complex situated in 90-hectare site.
SVEL’s specialists completed design engineering of Checkmash Substation, construction and so-called turn-key installation of the equipment. In addition to this, according to the project scope, an overhead line was erected, totaled 1.5km, and the entrance passage to the site constructed. Due to a high level of digitalization, the substation requires no duty personnel on-site, and also the security and CCTV system is provided along the perimeter.
All facility is equipped with the domestic goods and systems. In particular, SVEL products are widely used at Checkmash Substation, i.e. 40MVA power transformer, a bunch of switchgears, disconnectors, 110kV and 10kV packaged switchgears along with the applicable metal items; and also dry-type cast resing transformers as an integrate part of the solar power plant itself.
‘SVEL has been involved into engineering projects over 10 years, however this case is truly special for us. New stages are added here, e.g. registration of the land plot and obtaining the construction permits, and conducting the regulatory expert review. The digital substation of the second architecture was constructed in a rather short, almost record‑breaking time, despite the limited list of Russian equipment suppliers’,” noted Alexander Yashchenko, Project Manager.
Since 2016, SVEL has been participated in solar and wind power generation projects. The substations built by the company in numerous regions of Russia and abroad now supply about 1GW of ‘green’ electricity to the grids.
