About the project

In 2019, Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works implemented a project to build a new sinter plant.

The design capacity of the facility is 5.5 million tons of stabilized chilled sinter per year. To provide the factory with electricity, the plant reconstructed the current substation, replacing old power transformers with modern ones with natural ventilation, so that personnel would not waste time on their maintenance and comply with all modern safety and operating standards.

SVEL Solution

During its cooperation with MMK, SVEL Group has provided about a dozen facilities of the metallurgical plant with its products, including a hot rolling mill, blast furnace shops, and units.

Within the framework of this task, the specialists of the SVEL group have developed a special block-modular design for transformers, since they are planned to be operated in the open air.

All technical parameters of the client were also taken into account. SVEL is the only company in Russia that can produce dry-type cast resin transformers with a capacity of 10,000 Kva.
