NLMK Group is an international steel company with assets in Russia, the USA and European countries. The main asset of the Group is the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, the first largest metallurgical plant in Russia. In 2016, the metallurgical plant had a need for complete transformer substations together with dry transformers with a capacity of 2500 kVA.
The customer was tasked with designing an air pressurization system that was supposed to inject excess pressure into the substation and protect equipment connections from settling dust.
The relevance of the project is due to the fact that the substation is located in close proximity to the casting shop, in which there is a high concentration of dust.

Successful cooperation between the enterprises of SVEL Group and Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant has been going on for about 7 years. During this time, the manufacturer has supplied several power dry and oil transformers, as well as transformer substations for the power supply of the plant.
To protect equipment from dust, SVEL specialists designed the main and backup air pressurization systems, due to which air from the substation is constantly blown out through all openings.
Dry-type transformers supplied to NLMK have an increased overload capacity and increased corrosion resistance. Also their feature is that they are made of NLMK steel.
