VTs are normally applied at instruments devices to scale voltage to the values that are easy to handle for measuring purposes.
Also VTs are applied at protection devices. When it is necessary to simultaneously conduct measurements and connect protective devices, VT is made with two or more groups of secondary coils. The majority of such devices are designed for 600V, since it is most common option required for substations.
