SVEL Constructing 5 Turn-Key Substations at Solar Farms

News

The construction is underway simultaneously in Astrakhan Region, Kalmyk Republic, Buryat Republic and Trans-Baikal Region. All in all, about 170 specialists and 60 special vehicles are engaged into the activity at these five construction sites. The company implements the whole construction cycle of 10/110kV Substation including the integrated delivery, installation and commissioning of the equipment. It shall be noted that 80% of the equipment is manufactured by SVEL, i.e. power transformers, disconnectors, switchgears, vacuum circuit breakers, as well as the modular building for 10kV closed distribution switchgears combined with the general dispatch point, and all metal items.

SVEL specialists rely of their vast experience in constructing substations in numerous regions and territories. For instance, in southern regions, it is critical to consider possible sifting of the sandy soils. Baikal area has strict requirements to environment standards. So, depending on the climate, the equipment shall ensure their ability to withstand the temperature range -60°C to +40°C, and in some cases, seismic resistance up to magnitude 8.

10/110kV step-up substations shall ensure transfer the solar power plants’ power into the grid, as planned for 2024 – 2025. The investors, Hevel Solar Group (Bogdinskaya, Dzhidinskaya, Novobichurskaya Solar Power Plants) and Unigreen Energy (Borzinskaya, Krasinskaya Solar Power Plants). One solar power station may supply about 30 thousand households. To compare, if we get same amount of electricity via fossil sources, it will generate 58 thousand tons of CO2, annually.

Since 2016, SVEL Group is involved into solar and wind generation. As of today, we have constructed about 20 substations generating about 1GW of green electricity.
