SVEL Dry-type Transformers Installed at Tupolangskaya HPP

SVEL Group supplied transformers for Tupolangskaya HPP (Uzbekistan, Surkhandarya region). The customer of the equipment is Uzbekhydroenergo.

The delivery included two 630kVA dry-type transformers with a set of output busbars. A feature of the equipment is an increased level of seismic resistance of nine points.

The first stage of Tupolangskaya HPP was put into operation in 2006, and now there is a project is being implemented to modernize and increase its capacity from 30MW to 175MW.

Over the past five years, Uzbekistan has become a leader among the former USSR countries in terms of number of new and reconstructed hydroelectric power plants. SVEL Group has already supplied equipment to the Farhad HPP (Syrdarya region), and in October 2022, they shipped transformers to small HPPs of the Samarkand cascade. Installation and commissioning are scheduled for February.
