SVEL equipment Installed at Kola NPP

News

Kola Nuclear Power Plant is a unique site, the first nuclear power plant built in the harsh climatic conditions of the Arctic and the northernmost NPP in Europe.

SVEL Group supplied a bunch of current transformers for upgrading of relay protection and automation at Unit 1, including TT TOL-SVEL-10-1 UHL2, TOL-SVEL-10M-11.1 UHL2, and TZLK-SVEL-0.66 UHL2. CTs are installed into 6kV Switchgears to transmit measuring data to the measuring instruments, protection and control devices within AC circuits.

Such upgrade of the equipment would extend the operational life of Kola NPP’s Units, guarantee a reliable power supply to the Arctic area and boost establishing new innovative production sites at Kola Arctic territory.
