SVEL’s Transformers Added Power to Kazan’s Suburbs

News

In Laishevsky District, Tatarstan Republic, 110kV Yubileynaya Substation was completed. The substation became 60% more powerful – instead of two 25MVA transformers, 40MVA transformers by SVEL were installed and commissioned.

The additional capacity was demanded due to emerging construction activity in the local residential area: over the latest years, the population had grown up thrice, to 60 thousand people, and, therefore, the substation’s load had been increasing a megawatt, annually.

Right here, in Kazan’s southern district, the international airport and Kazan Expo Exhibition Center are located, being a special economic area. The reconstruction of Yubileynaya Substation was a part of a multiscale project in order to strengthen the involved grids. Now on, the power supply became stable in any possible situation, either in case of any electricity failure, or maintenance and scheduled repair activity.
