Leningrad NPP

Solution for limiting short-circuit currents

Dry transformers: supply for power unit 2. Customer: "Titan-2"

Reactors: delivery to the operating unit, as well as the first VVER-1200 power unit of Leningrad NPP (launched in early 2018)

About the project

About the project

The Leningrad NPP is the first station in the country with RBMK-1000 reactors (uranium-graphite nuclear reactors of channel type on thermal neutrons). In early February 2018, the first VVER-1200 power unit of Leningrad NPP was successfully brought to the minimum controlled power level - less than 1%.

SVEL Solution

SVEL Solution

SVEL Group is one of the few suppliers in Russia who has the right to supply dry transformers and reactors to nuclear power plants.

SVEL has a long-term partnership with LNPP: SVEL supplies equipment both to the existing site and to the LNPP-2 under construction. Thus, in 2016, SVEL supplied 22 dry transformers with a capacity from 400 to 1600 kVA produced by SVEL for the first VVER-1200 power unit and for the auxiliary needs of the facility.

In 2017, SVEL Group acted as a manufacturer and supplier of transformer and reactor equipment, and also took on the work of its installation supervision. The customer set the task to carry out the delivery within a strictly specified time frame, and SVEL Group coped with this task.

Note that now SVEL is a unique Russian manufacturer of reactor equipment for 330 kV voltage class. This type of reactor is no longer manufactured by any manufacturer.
