Import substitution is a hot talk everywhere, especially within manufacturing and engineering communities, and it is natural that meetings of the federal level are participated by the leaders in their industries who could speak up about this in the first person. We highly value this invitation to the meeting on import substitution in electrical engineering that took place at Deputy Minister of the RF Industry and Trade Ministry Office, Mr. Ivanov.
We truly had something to say as SVEL Group is about 10 years works hard on import substitution and eager to share our experience with colleagues.
On behalf of the transformer manufacturing industry Mr. Tugolukov, Deputy General Manager, SVEL Group spoke about the most acute issues, i.e. establishing test fleet for HV equipment, ensuring raw materials and components, as well as creating an alternative to bank guarantees.
It is certain, that today we are capable to substitute 100% of foreign equipment with the domestic one. However Russian manufacturers face some serious issues that could be overcome only when all the interested parties – authorities, manufacturers, customers – act as a team.
