Second 40MW Power Transformer by SVEL was commissioned at Khabarovsk-2 Railway Substation. To upgrade the facility, SVEL will supply three transformers, totally; first one of which was put into operation in March, 2021.
The equipment upgrade would boost substation’s safety and reliability. Full reconstruction of Khabarovsk-2 Substation will conclude after commissioning of the third transformer (also 40MW) and connecting all the auxiliary equipment. This work shall be finished before the end of 2022.
The upgraded substation would ensure reliable traction for freight trains at Volochaevka – Khabarovsk – Kruglikovo Railway section comprising over 100 km, it allow reducing the interval between trains from 16 to 10 minutes, while increasing the carrying capacity from 81 to 130 train-pairs towards border points and sea ports of Primorsky Territory’
