At the end of November, a comprehensive testing of the transformer took place - 72 hours under the maximum permissible load.
SVEL Group manufactured a block single-phase transformer of the ORTs type with a capacity of 533,000 kVA for a voltage of 500 kV (ORTs-533000/500) instead of outdated equipment.
The new SVEL transformer makes it possible to improve the reliability of the station and the uninterrupted supply of electricity to consumers, including the plants of RUSAL.
Previously, SVEL Group supplied dry transformers to the Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP: in 2010 for its own needs and in 2019 for the needs of the Mainskaya HPP (acts as a counter-regulator of the SSH HPP).
Sayano-Shushenskaya HPP is the largest power plant in Russia in terms of installed capacity, and is the upper stage of the Yenisei HPP cascade. The unique arched gravity dam of the station with a height of 242 m is the highest dam in Russia and one of the highest dams in the world.
